TILE CARE

Every Winds and Friends mahjong set is crafted and carefully designed with artful detail and lasting quality. Proper care will preserve their polished finish, keeping your set a timeless keepsake for years to come.

To preserve the quality of your set between games, store your tiles in their dedicated case within a cool, dry environment. Avoid exposing them high humidity, prolonged heat, or sudden temperature changes. Keep from long exposures in direct sunlight (particularly the marina blue tiles).

Care instructions: Do not submerge in water. Never use alcohol or abrasive cleaners on tiles they are oil painted and this could cause smudging. Wash with a clean cloth and gentle cleaner and dry.

MAT CARE

To keep your mat looking its best, a little extra care goes a long way! Avoid direct sunlight, as prolonged exposure can damage the rubber, and keep it away from high heat—never put it in the dryer or iron directly on the mat. Do not leave it in a hot car. For routine touch-ups, simply spot clean with mild soap and a soft microfiber cloth. Please also avoid harsh chemicals such as bleach, alcohol, or strong acids and alkalis. Before storing your mat, make sure it is completely dry, then roll it up rather than folding it, as folding can leave permanent creases. Store it rolled in a cool, dry place, and ideally at 60–75°F with humidity below 65%. 

If your new mat has a noticeable rubber smell, don’t worry! Simply leave it out in a well-ventilated space for a few days, and the smell will naturally fade.
